The Chaplain Prayer Experience:

In order to create the Sacred Space, in that moment of need, I hold the Congregant as God created him/her – whole, complete and free. Once, the congregant has made his/her prayer request, I go within, and in the silence, I trust that the right and perfect prayer will flow from God through me.

Once the prayer is completed, the consciousness is raised. The outer circumstances will change. They must.  That is the law.

There is a sense of peace and joyful expectancy as we go forward.Everything that is spoken is held in the strictest confidence.

If you desire a Chaplain to pray with you, please call (770) 441-0585 ext. 211, leave a message and a Chaplain will return your call. Or to Email our Chaplains with your name and phone number,at chaplain@atlantaunity.org. One of our Chaplains will email you back or return your call.

Pastoral Care Opportunities

Atlanta Unity has much to offer congregants who may find themselves in need of pastoral care.

First, and perhaps most importantly, we are here to pray with you.  Our ministerial staff and loving chaplain staff are available in person at the church on Sunday mornings, and by phone or in person during the week.  We want to pray with you and help you feel the reality of God's truths and love for you.

We have a team of very special folks in the church who want to serve you by providing food during times of great stress.  If you are sick, in the hospital, post-surgery, etc. please call the church office and leave your request for a meal.  A wonderful congregant will show up with nutritious and delicious food to express God's care and make your way just a little bit easier.

We have several ongoing support groups and other periodic classes to uplift and encourage you.  We have a weekly Narcotics Anonymous (NA) group which also serves those with alcohol challenges, a monthly job seekers support group, and will soon offer a five-week grief class for those experiencing large losses in their lives, whether the loss of a loved one, beloved pet, job, financial status, relationship, home, or other type of loss.

Do you feel the need to speak with a pastoral care counselor?  Rev. Barbara offers her pastoral care counseling skills to congregants at their request.

This is just a partial list of the pastoral care services we offer at Atlanta Unity.  For more information, please contact the church office, or check the announcements and invitations on our website and in our weekly church bulletin.  Information about many of our services are available each week at the information table in Fellowship Hall.

Allow us to serve you, know you better, and strengthen our spiritual community!
