Here is just one of the crucial solutions that we will explore:
When you feel annoyed with your mate, you are viewing a mental movie of your mate in your mind and relating with that imaginary person as real.  Your annoyance produces the movie, not your mate.  Your annoyance expresses your own negative emotional reaction pattern that you bring into the relationship. It really has nothing to do with who your mate really is or what your mate has done.  You do not have to react the way that you do.  When you preserve or return to your authentic peace and poise and look into your heart, you can gain real, compassionate understanding of your mate and of your own best course of action to follow in the present moment.  When you react with annoyance, your critical, unhappy attitude of blame makes you miserable, while you believe that it is your mate's self-conduct that is making you miserable. As you take responsibility for your reactions, you see how your annoyance cuts you off from love, how it produces and perpetuates the marital problem that you feel trapped in.  When you stop blaming your mate for this habitual negative pattern of your own, you can begin leaving that pattern and living in more love, inner peace, and relationship satisfaction.
