A Review of 2009 and a Look Ahead to the Rest of 2010
Dearest Friends and Fellow Truth-Seekers:
We have come to another Annual Membership Meeting at Atlanta Unity. We have much to celebrate in the year just completed and we have a lot of work to do in the coming year. I am reminded that my wife Brenda taught in a school in Hawaii called Hana Hau’ oli (which means “Joyous Work” or “Happy Work”). Yes, we have a lot of work ahead of us. And our Unity teachings assure us that it will be joyous, happy, positive, spiritual and successful. This is the Truth!
Let me tell you that each one gave heart and soul to the tasks presented to them. They have made this church better and they have made my life better. If you happen to see smiles on their faces and a spring in their steps, just know that we asked a lot of them and they delivered. They were great Board members and they are happy to have the freedom that retiring brings them. We say to them, “Well done, thou good and faithful servants!”
Let me also take a moment to thank our beautiful, spiritual, loving hard-working staff. Everyone, and I mean everyone, has given more than I could ask. We get much more from them that most of you never know or see. But they, through many long hours and total dedication, give to you a classy church that you can be proud of. Believe me, I know churches that don’t get nearly the quality of service from a staff three times the size of ours. And let me also tell you about the volunteers, our unpaid staff. Day after day, week after week, event after event, they show up and greet you, feed you, shovel snow from sidewalks, dig in the dirt and plant flowers, and do everything imaginable to add to what our staff does. It brings tears to me eyes to think about how special they are. Thank you, all of you. And let me just sneak in a little plug… we would really welcome more volunteers. for the complete letter click here. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Rev. John’s Prayer for Abundance:
Atlanta Unity invites you to pray the following prayer everyday at 8:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M. wherever you may be: God is abundant good and is everywhere present. We are God’s beloved children and God’s beloved community. Therefore, we are abundantly blessed in all areas! We are grateful, every moment of every day. Amen. Thank you. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
